4/12/09 - Scatter
Everyone has started to leave now heading home or to their next location. A small number of us will be here until tomorrow so we had a chance to explore the city.
I'm not sure why I agreed to get up at 7.30am after last night, but there I was anyway, standing at the foot of the garden hill and finding that it didn't open until 9am. I was displeased.
Upon our return two hours later, though, I found that it had been worth it. The hill is a well kept garden leading up to glorious views of the city (plus smog).
Later we went for a wander around the main plaza and visited a museum which had the promise of mummies. These turned out to be very small and not well preserved, but the museum was good despite our disappointment.
In the evening I went out for dinner with Sandie and Christel as well as another Australian woman named Sue who they knew from another tour they had been on. It was a good evening, especially since we found a place that served excellent White Russians.
