26/11/09 - Lagoons

Today was a very long ride in the 4x4s over very bumpy terrain. We entered the national park area where the seven different coloured lagoons are and saw a few of them.

It was a remarkably uncomfortable day.

The lagoons were interesting but appreciated more as a respite from being tossed around like rag dolls.

One of our longer breaks was at a large group of rocks sitting in the desert.

The red lagoon's colour come from the iron at the bottom. It is black until the wind hits the water changing its colour. Pretty cool.

When we arrived at the hotel (I forgot to mention that out here all the buildings, beds, whatever are made of salt) we had dinner and played some cards but most of us just wanted to go to bed.
