We arrived in La Serena at about 10am and after obligatory showers went out for a meal. Most of us were very tired after the bus journey save for Rob and Diane who can sleep anywhere and Paul to whom I had lent my ear plugs and mask on the bus journey. I'm not entirely certain how doing that had seemed like a good idea at the time as I really could have used them.
After an afternoon nap we went out once again for dinner and drinks at a restaurant down by the beach, but by this time most of us were shattered so only a few stayed out for long.
