16/12/09 - The South

After an early start and more goodbyes the smal group of us going to the south island headed off to the ferry. Three scenic hours later we were at the other side.

Our new driver introduced himself as Seagull which I assume is a nickname (that or he had really sadistic parents).

As we traveled south I noticed two things. First is that the scenery is somehow getting even nicer and second is that the weather is getting progressively more like Scotland. I seem to be alone in enjoying being (relatively) cool for a change.

On our way to Old MacDonald's Farm (where we were staying the night) we stopped at a vineyard for wine tasting which didn't interest me. There was a very silly looking dog there, however.

For dinner a small group of us made spaghetti and meatballs, which went down well as you can see from Beau's face.
