The weather and countryside here are reminding me a lot of Scotland. We went on a long walk today and was a wonderful example of how beautiful New Zealand is. As usual you will have to make do with five pictures. Sorry.
Somewhere behind this mountain lies Mount Doom. Unfortunately it was obscured by clouds that never lifted.
We visited Gollum's Pool at one point. This is where he ate a fish. Truly epic stuff.
The hostel we are in is one of the best I've stayed in. It doesn't look like much from the outside but inside it is very nice, has a hot tub in the courtyard(?) and home cooked meals from the bar. I had steak. It was good.
The hop on/off nature of Stray's tours is beginning to show as about half of our group is staying here longer. As much as I'd love to the fact that I'm leaving on the 4th of January means I have to keep moving every time the bus does in order to make it back in time.
